ex-drug addict who was molested as a child, and sold himself for drugs as a
young adult. John is a vet from special ops with PTSD nightmares and
flashbacks. Much unfolds as they decide to commit, plan a wedding, and inform
everyone of their new status. So much is revealed about their past, and what
they need to work through emotionally and psychologically to be together.

Back in the Day by
KeelieThompson1, 110 k, mature. Unilock. Sherlock meets a younger John while he
is still in college. We get to see the two mature together through John’s
drinking and troubled home life, and Sherlock’s drug use and shady dealings.
Lots of angst and violence, great plot and characters and smut. (Locked to AO3

war-time romance AU. John is a soldier in the war in Afghanistan. Mycroft asks
Sherlock to fly in and solve the mystery of some suspicious political murders.
Plot, love, sizzling sex, and fabulous research found in this! (Murder and
violence of course too.) A fav.

Perpetual Motion by Fay(orphan
account), 75 k, explicit. Virginlock. Sherlock is asexual, or perhaps
demi-sexual, and John is not gay. Maybe he’s bisexual, or perhaps really just
Sherlock-sexual. It’s hard to tell. The lines get all muddled when little games
start to get out of hand. Through the fights, a month-long orgasm denial
challenge for Sherlock, and a trip to view the house he inherits from his
grandmamma, things get real.

 The
Men Who Talked Between the Words by Odamaki, explicit, WIP. After Mary
dies, John and his daughter move back in with Sherlock. This is a long,
meandering, slow burn of a fic that takes its time as the two men tackle cases,
deal with friends and family, and navigate their long buried feelings.
 Slowly, slowly they build a life between the three of them, becoming
